I last saw Tyner with his big band in a unit that was assembled by another now departed (although unsung) jazz great, Mel Martin. It was a memorable evening, although now bittersweet in retrospect having come to realize that it would be the last time I'd witness this piano master in my own lifetime. McCoy was one the giants of the latter 20th century jazz community. God rest his soul.
