A Tribute To John Mclaughlin And Mahavishnu Orchestra - "Mahavishnu Re-Defined" (2008) @320

Paying affectionate homage to jazz greats is a tricky business, especially when it comes to an artist like John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra is considered by many to be the greatest Jazz-fusion group of all time. The group was formed in late 1970-early 1971 by McLaughlin, a brilliant guitarist with a jazz-rock pedigree that included work with the Graham Bond Organisation in the mid-60s, and with the electrified Miles Davis on his landmark "Bitches Brew" LP in 1969.

The Mahavishnu Orchestra released a couple of records, including the incredible “Inner Mounting Flame” and “Birds of Fire”. They played with sophisticated improvisations and played incredibly loud during their live sets. The band utilized complex arrangements along with virtuoso solos and pioneered usage of indian music rhythms and electronic synthesizers. With the rediscovery of jazz and fusion roots by a new generation, the Mahavishnu Orchestra stands out as one of the most influential artists of the genre. “MAHAVISHNU Re-Defined” is a double CD compilation featuring tracks by various modern artists either creating their own dynamic arrangements of John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra - compositions or producing original sonic paintings based on Mahavishnu consciousness.

Hey Crimehead, maybe you can help.
I have had two people try and download this cd but always get this error message:

So three tracks are missing from both cd's. They have tried all three file hosting sites and ideas?

Sorry friend, they opened fine for me, can anyone else help?

Mr. JazzFusion--

It says your error right in there "Total path and file name length must not exceed 260 characters"

Here's how you fix it.

1) Go to your root directory (C:\)

2) Create a new directory with a short name (ex: mp3; c:\mp3)

3) Try extracting to that folder.

You had more than 260 characters in your file path. The entire file path is included in this number (in your specific problem, "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.\My Documents\My Music" added to your 260 character count).

4) Listen and enjoy :)
